Legal Assistant – Litigation Seize the opportunity to contribute to the success of an organization in the legal sector for our client by providing essential legal and administrative support to litigation professionals. Responsibilities: • Draft correspondence and prepare and revise legal documents. • Manage deadlines, schedule meetings and appointments, and maintain lawyers’ calendars. • Coordinate travel arrangements and business travel bookings for lawyers. • Review and proofread documents for grammar, formatting, and compliance with legal requirements and organizational branding standards. • Manage files, documents, and records using various storage and archiving applications, including Closing Folders, ShareFile, and virtual data rooms. • Assist lawyers with business development initiatives and maintain the professional relationships database. • Process data, including time entries and expenses, and perform file opening procedures. • Liaise with clients, colleagues, service groups, and external parties. • Monitor file billing activities in collaboration with billing coordinators. • Transcribe dictations, audio notes, and recordings. • Contribute to the onboarding of new team members. • Finalize court documents for service and filing purposes, when applicable. • Communicate and liaise with bailiffs and court representatives. • Monitor litigation deadlines and procedural timelines. • Participate in activities related to commissioning and oath administration, as required. • Perform related administrative duties. What you will need to succeed: Required qualifications • Attestation of College Studies (AEC) in Legal Secretarial Studies or a College Diploma (DEC) in Office Administration. • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, preferably within a professional services environment. • Litigation-related knowledge and skills. • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Bilingualism in French and English for communications and the preparation of legal documents. Preferred qualifications • College Diploma (DEC) in Paralegal Technology or Legal Studies. • Knowledge of procedures before the Federal Court, the Tax Court of Canada, and the Supreme Court of Canada. • Advanced knowledge of litigation procedures in Quebec.
