We are currently looking for an experienced Legal Counsel to join our legal team. This role is ideally located in Montreal, QC at our Global Headquarters, however can be remote across Canada with travel to Montreal on occasion.

In this role, you will be reporting to the Vice President & General Counsel at Accedian Networks, and a member of our corporate legal team. As part of this team, you will be actively involved in developing and providing legal solutions that assist and help Accedian achieve its corporate objectives on a global basis. Accedian is present in Latin-America, North-America, EMEA and Asia-Pacific with over 700 customers and partners. This is a GREAT opportunity to work for a dynamic Montreal based organization with an international flavor.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Providing day to day legal support and tactical advice to the various business units of Accedian;
  • Offering legal support and providing timely and practical legal advice to various internal teams and departments, as required (incl. operations, business development, sales, product management, etc.)
  • Drafting and negotiating a wide range of contracts with customers, suppliers, strategic partners at the international level;
  • Making practical recommendations and solving legal and business issues within tight deadlines
  • Developing and implementing policies applicable to Accedian's business
  • Providing legal training to the various business units of Accedian;
  • Managing and liaising with outside counsels in Canada and foreign jurisdictions when required;


  • Experience of working in, or closely with, an in-house legal department;
  • Knowledge of business practices and the legislative framework applicable to the software, SaaS, computer hardware industry (including intellectual property, privacy and export controls compliance) considered as a major asset;
  • Experience in contract negotiation at the international level;
  • Member of the Quebec Bar or other recognized law society;
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience;
  • Business acumen;
  • Superior writing, analytical, negotiating and communication skills;
  • Demonstrated track record of outstanding achievement and accomplishment;
  • Leadership, self-motivated, confident, professional attitude;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple competing priorities and provide practical legal advice;
  • Customer and team oriented, able to work closely and develop strong relationship with people from all levels;
  •  Customer service excellence is part of your priorities and values;
  •  Perfectly bilingual (English/French), spoken and written. Knowledge of other languages such as Spanish, Portuguese or Chinese, is a plus;
  • Strong computer literacy and a comfort level with various systems
