The successful candidate will be managing a Labour, Employment law and Human Rights practice portfolio in a fast paced and engaging work environment within a collaborative and supportive team.


  • Provide strategic advice to the Human Resources team and Health and Safety group on labour and employment law, human rights issues and occupational health and safety matters.

  • Represent Purolator before administrative tribunals, including grievance arbitrators, the Canada Industrial Relations Board, as well as the Canadian Human Rights Commission and Human Rights Tribunal.

  • Provide counsel and advice to the Operations group, including in respect to contracts with third party service providers.

  • Workplace investigations.

  • Claims and litigation management


  • Bachelor of Civil Law degree (BCL) and a member in good standing of the Quebec Bar.

  • Minimum of 6-8 years’ experience in a law firm or in-house environment including at least 5 years of experience in labour and employment law

  • Knowledge and experience in the federal jurisdiction sector including in particular matters under the Canada Labour Code.

  • Fluency in French and English


  • Strong litigation experience and excellent advocacy skills

  • Excellent analytical and drafting skills

  • Strong initiative skills and a team player

  • Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and solve varied problems with confidence using their exceptional interpersonal and client service skills.

  • Experience before the Tribunal Administratif du Travail related to workplace injury is an asset.
