EY is looking for In-house Employment Lawyer to join its General Counsel’s Office. This lawyer will assist in handling a broad range of employment law and human resources related matters. They will work with a variety of different stakeholders including, managers, EY leadership and our Talent Team.

Your key responsibilities

  • Provide counsel, guidance and execution support to fellow GCO team members as well as EY’s business leaders and Talent Team professionals across the countries that balances risk and EY’s business interests
  • Provide Support with respect to all aspects of employment law including human rights, employment standards, teminations, employment contracts, Talent related policies and employment litgation
  • Provide practical, business-oriented legal advice
  • Act as a strategic advisor to the business
  • Contribute to internal process improvement and training initiatives
  • Conduct research and analysis to provide subject matter expertise on employment law

Skills and attributes for success

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective multitasking and prioritization skills
  • Strong proficiency with Outlook and Word programs as well as the ability to learn new applications quickly
  • Ability to take a consultative approach and support the business and stakeholders
  • Continuous improvement mindset

To qualify for the role you must have

  • 2-5 years of Employment Law experience
  • Licensed to practice law in Ontario

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • French Language ability
