Our valued client, a highly regarded national law firm, is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to join its Vancouver office. This is an excellent opportunity for a polished and proactive Legal Assistant who enjoys being closely involved in their lawyers’ practices and takes pride in providing exceptional support. The successful candidate will be highly organized, detail oriented and comfortable managing competing priorities in a busy, professional environment. The role offers a broad mix of litigation, administrative and practice-management responsibilities, with significant involvement in the day-to-day management of files and client matters. Key Responsibilities Prepare, revise and manage litigation documents and court materials, including pleadings, motion materials, affidavits, factums, books of authorities, appeal books and mediation briefs. Coordinate court filings, service and other court-related processes, including electronic filing. Monitor litigation deadlines, hearing dates, procedural timelines and other key milestones. Assist with examinations, mediations, hearings, trials and appeals, including preparation of materials and coordination of logistics. Legal Assistant (Litigation) - … Manage calendars, meetings, correspondence, travel arrangements and other day-to-day administrative requirements. Draft, format, revise, proofread and finalize legal documents and correspondence. Maintain well-organized electronic files and ensure documents and information are accurately saved and easily accessible. Assist with time entry, billing, expenses, file openings and other practice-management responsibilities. Work collaboratively with lawyers, other legal assistants and internal administrative teams to ensure excellent client service and seamless support. Qualifications & Experience 3–5 years of relevant experience, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment. Strong knowledge of British Columbia litigation procedures, court requirements and filing processes. Post-secondary education in Legal, Office or Executive Administration, or a related program. Strong knowledge of legal terminology, documents and procedures. Experience with document management, time entry and billing systems. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office.
