The evertz.io team builds next-generation systems for content management and distribution in the Media and Entertainment industry. Disney, NBCUniversal, Warner Bros. Discovery, BBC, and many other content producers and publishers use our products and services to make the most of their file-based and live content for the least effort.

We work with high quality video in real-time and non-real-time scenarios across a wide range of cutting-edge tech. Specializations within the group span from low-level video manipulation and analysis, through back-end management and orchestration services, to web delivered UIs.

Our technology stack includes a Serverless microservice architecture that capitalizes on the full breadth of AWS services with code written in Python, Rust and Java, our UI uses the latest versions of Angular, Typescript and NgRx, our CI/CD pipelines leverage AWS, Jenkins, Nexus, and Bazel in addition to our in-house release-management application to build and release 100's of software components.

As an Applications Engineer, you will be joining a passionate team that's at the forefront of defining and designing new features and services for the evertz.io platform. In this role you will take on a wide range of tasks from helping internal and external stakeholders understand the power of our services, to assisting with proof of concepts and creating product documentation.

We have a significant impact on how our product looks and feels, and this ultimately affects how it's used. As a member of our team, you will be involved in helping create the best solutions for the customers using our services.

The ideal candidate for this role will be someone that is very keen to build knowledge and driven to seek exposure to multiple facets of broadcasting. They will be highly self-motivated and enjoy a dynamic fast paced environment that places a very high emphasis on teamwork and collaboration across multiple disciplines.

Skills and experience you will bring:

  • Extensive experience in deploying, optimizing, and maintaining software.

  • Advanced proficiency in programming languages, such as Python, XSLT, JavaScript.

Additional skills and experience that will be useful:

  • Have good written and oral communication skills.
  • Familiarity with AWS (Lambda, Step Functions, Dynamo DB, CloudWatch, CloudFormation), and/or Broadcast Technology (Video, Audio, OTT, Live Production).
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, information systems, software engineering, networking or similar discipline preferred, but having a good grasp of technology and business helps more.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and document product requirements using insights from internal and external sources.
  • Research and investigate new technologies to support the creation new features.
  • Complete detailed requirement specifications for the product.
  • Help identify, define, and design interfaces for the product's user experience.
  • Collaborating on software development projects with the engineering, sales, SRE and QA departments.
  • Writing code and scripts as well as installing, maintaining, and testing specific features.
  • Assist with customer demo preparation and execution.
  • Communicate and promote new features with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Documenting development processes, procedures, and application version histories.
  • Understand the design principles of evertz.io.
  • Help drive customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in daily scrum standups, sprint planning, and other team processes.
