Description

The Business Law Group at Norton Rose Fulbright is one of the first choices for complex, high-value business work of local, national and global corporations. Due to increased work flow from our global platform, our Vancouver office is looking to strategically add one or two mid-level Associates with skills in corporate, M&A and securities to our dynamic and collegial business practice.

Our Vancouver office handles projects and transactions in areas that are key to Canada's economic growth, including technology, life sciences, healthcare, energy, infrastructure, financial services, real estate, forestry, the maritime industry and mining. Our 100 lawyers and over 140 staff act for international, national and local businesses, entrepreneurs and business owners, private equity funds, financial institutions, and the government.

Associates within our highly-regarded corporate, M&A and securities teams have the opportunity (if desired) to work across these complementary practice areas, allowing them to maintain a diverse practice, develop a broad skillset and gain experience in different industries. Our corporate, M&A and securities teams meet regularly, providing opportunities for ongoing professional development, mentorship and business development training within a collegial setting. In addition, associates may have the opportunity to complete secondments to clients or other Norton Rose Fulbright offices globally, as our business needs allow.

The ideal candidate will have had exposure to M&A, securities, and general corporate/commercial transactions, as well as:

  • 4 to 6 years of post-call experience;
  • excellent academics; and
  • commercial awareness, excellent interpersonal skills, drive and enthusiasm for our work, and an innovative and team-oriented approach to practice.

This is a rare opportunity to join a world-class team of professionals, working in a collaborative office environment at an established Canadian law firm that is also a member firm of a strong international legal practice.

Vancouver Salary: Salary will be discussed and negotiated during interview and will be based on experience:

  • 4 years of post-call experience: $142,000 - $157,000
  • 5 years of post-call experience: $157,000 - $175,000
  • 6 years of post-call experience: $175,000 - $190,000
