Part-time Court Security Officer
Position: Part-time Court Security Officer

Salary: $24.20 – $28.07/hr
Status: Non-Represented, Non-Exempt

This Position Is Not Eligible For Benefits
Schedule: One shift per week, typically 6–8 hours in length.
Officers must also complete two mandatory annual training days (8 hours each) focused on defensive tactics, firearms proficiency, and legal updates.
Position Available: Position to begin early October
GENERAL FUNCTION:
This is a part-time, armed, uniformed, limited commission law enforcement position. Employees perform various duties within the Police Department that do not require a full police commission, including municipal court security, computer data entry and filing.
This class description reflects the general concept and intent of the classification and should not be construed as a detailed statement of all the work requirements that may be inherent in a position.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of education and experience that provides the applicant with the desired skills, knowledge, and ability required to perform the job duties of Court Security Officer is acceptable. A high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required. The applicant must pass a background investigation. A valid Washington State driver's license and a driving record acceptable to the City and the City's insurance carrier is required. Required to obtain valid first aid and CPR cards within the first year of employment. The employee must be able to qualify with a handgun, oleoresin capsicum, and electronic control devices (TASER).
