We are currently seeking a Trust Clerk to join our Finance team based in the Firm’s Halifax, NS or Saint John, NB office.

Type of Position: Full-time, Permanent Close Date: August 14, 2026

The Opportunity: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Trust Clerk to join our Finance team. In this role, you will oversee the Firm's daily trust deposits and withdrawals, ensuring all transactions are processed accurately and in compliance with provincial trust regulations.

As an integral member of the Finance team, you will be responsible for processing trust deposits and withdrawals in accordance with provincial trust regulations, investing and managing trust funds in daily interest, term deposit, and Trusteed accounts, and inputting and processing a variety of transactions through the Firm's electronic payment system.

You will respond to lawyers' requests for trust account reporting and activity, address inquiries from banks, lawyers, support staff, and clients, and reconcile and maintain trust records to ensure accuracy and compliance.

The successful candidate will also provide back-up coverage as required, including processing Service Nova Scotia Trust and Service New Brunswick trust transactions, participate in departmental projects, and perform other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society & the Law Society of New Brunswick’s Trust Account Regulations or a demonstrated willingness to learn and apply them.

Relevant post-secondary education and/or experience in accounting, banking, finance, or a related field is preferred, along with strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and electronic database management. Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential for success in this role.

Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours is required, and overtime opportunities are available.
