About the role

Reporting to the Senior Director, Commodity Taxes, the Senior Manager, Commodity Tax will be responsible for providing strategic and technical commodity tax leadership, including GST/HST/QST and PST advisory and compliance support, to the real estate operations and associated legal entities. Acting as a senior subject matter expert, this role will ensure the organization remains compliant with applicable commodity tax legislation and regulations while proactively identifying tax risks, opportunities, and process improvements. This role will also lead complex tax matters, support business transactions, manage tax authority audits, and partner with cross-functional stakeholders across finance, legal, operations, and the broader business.
This is a large and progressive tax group and there are excellent opportunities for growth and development. The successful candidate will have relevant experience within a public accounting firm or industry and have excellent communication skills and a passion for learning. A CPA designation is preferred, or completed InDepth Tax courses. Location is mid-town Toronto and they offer a competitive package and the work life balance is excellent, with a hybrid work model (4 days per week in office), a highly comprehensive benefits package including a stock purchase plan and an excellent culture.
