Job Title: Junior Lawyer Location: Mississauga, ON (In-Person) Job Type: Full-Time (5 days per week) Salary: $50,000 – $60,000 (depending on candidate's prior experience)

About the Role PMalik Law Firm is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Lawyer to join our growing practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a recently called or early-career lawyer looking to develop strong advocacy skills while working on a diverse range of Family Law and Civil Litigation matters with exposure to other areas of the law. The Junior Lawyer will assist the senior lawyer with conducting research, drafting legal documents, preparing evidence, and representing clients in court proceedings.
Key Responsibilities Manage and assist with family law and civil litigation files from intake through resolution Draft pleadings, motions, affidavits, agreements, and legal correspondence with a high level of precision Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and CanLII Represent clients in court, including motions, case conferences, and other appearances Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff Support senior counsel in litigation strategy, file preparation, and case management Maintain organized and up-to-date file records while managing multiple priorities
Qualifications & Requirements Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent from an accredited institution Licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario 2–3 years of experience in Family Law and/or Civil Litigation Strong legal drafting and research skills are essential Ability and willingness to attend court regularly Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management Ability to work independently and as part of a team Organizational and time-management skills for managing multiple cases and deadlines Familiarity with Family Law, Civil Litigation, Employment and Labour Law, and other relevant legal areas is an asset.
