Job Description: Job Summary This position is responsible for auditing customs brokerage files (CAD files) to ensure compliance with Canadian import/export regulations, including CARM, SIMA, and surtax requirements. The role involves auditing both specific and randomly selected customer accounts, ensuring accuracy of documentation, tariff classification, and regulatory compliance. Work Arrangement Fully remote position (candidates must reside in Canada; proximity to Quebec or Ontario operations is considered an asset for occasional in-person meetings or training). Job Details Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent | Remote Workdays: Monday to Friday (must work all 5 days) Shift Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Weekly Hours: 40 hours (Flexibility required for start and finish times) Compensation: Quebec: $20.48 per hour Ontario: $ 21.42 per hour Work Location Operational hubs located in:
- Lachine, Quebec
- Mississauga, Ontario Key Responsibilities
- Audit daily brokerage files under CBSA D1-4-1 requirements
- Verify permits, licenses, certificates, and import documentation
- Validate tariff classifications using GROI and Explanatory Notes
- Perform country-of-origin verification with suppliers
- Maintain classification databases (Excel, Access)
- Enter classifications into internal systems
- Communicate compliance requirements to customers Requirements
- Minimum 5 years customs brokerage experience
- Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) required
- Strong CBSA and U.S. customs knowledge
- Advanced Excel skills
- French (advanced)*, English (intermediate) *Bilingualism required: French and English (written and spoken). Strong verbal and written communication skills in French are essential. The role involves regular interactions with clients outside of Quebec (20%). - Required
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills Preferred Qualifications
- International trade or logistics experience
- Classification and FTA experience
