AML Screening Analyst (L2) | Contract Opportunity 📍 Location: Montreal, QC (Hybrid: 4 Days In Office, Fridays Work From Home, Subject to Change) 💰 Pay Rate: Up to $37.00/hour + 4% Vacation Pay 🕒 Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:00 PM 📅 Contract: ASAP - October 30, 2026 📈 Extension Potential: Likely, based on performance and business needs 🏢 Permanent Conversion: Possible ⏰ Overtime: Available About the Opportunity Our client, a leading Canadian financial institution, is seeking an AML Screening Analyst (L2) to join its Financial Crime Risk Management team. This role focuses on customer screening and risk assessment related to Politically Exposed Persons (PEP), Money Services Businesses (MSB), and Adverse Media. The successful candidate will join a collaborative team responsible for identifying and assessing potential financial crime risks through watchlist screening and analysis. Key Responsibilities Conduct customer screening against various watchlists and risk databases. Review and assess potential matches involving: Politically Exposed Persons (PEP) Money Services Businesses (MSB) Adverse Media / Negative News Analyze customer information and open-source intelligence to identify potential risks. Apply established AML and compliance frameworks to determine materiality and risk. Document findings and maintain accurate case records. Escalate confirmed matches in accordance with established procedures. Meet daily, monthly, and quality performance targets. Support ongoing process improvements and team initiatives. What You'll Be Working On This is a high-volume, metrics-driven environment where analysts review approximately 200 cases per month. The role is focused on screening and risk assessment rather than investigations. Analysts review customer names, dates of birth, locations, and public information to assess potential matches against various watchlists and risk indicators. A significant portion of the workload involves Adverse Media reviews, making prior experience in this area especially valuable. Required Qualifications Must-Have ✔ 1+ years of AML experience (2-4 years preferred) ✔ 1+ years of Adverse Media screening experience ✔ Knowledge of: Politically Exposed Persons (PEP) Money Services Businesses (MSB) AML/ATF screening processes ✔ Previous experience performing customer screening and risk analysis ✔ Strong written and verbal communication skills ✔ Excellent attention to detail ✔ Strong organizational and time-management skills ✔ Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment ✔ Flexible, adaptable, and willing to learn Nice-to-Have ⭐ ACAMS/CAMS Certification ⭐ Banking or financial institution experience ⭐ Experience with Quantifind, World-Check, or similar screening platforms ⭐ Open-source intelligence research experience What Success Looks Like The ideal candidate will: Thrive in a high-volume screening environment.
