About the role

Job Summary Assess and adjudicate claims and revenue-related files to ensure compliance with program rules and policies. Conduct investigations, resolve discrepancies, and communicate outcomes to claimants and stakeholders. Number of Positions 1 Main Duties Assess eligibility and process claims by verifying documentation, income records, and supporting evidence. Review financial records, payroll, tax and benefit data to identify discrepancies and determine entitlements or obligations. Conduct investigations into suspected overpayments or fraud, including evidence gathering and interviewing relevant parties. Calculate recoveries, arrange repayment plans, and coordinate with other agencies or departments for collection and enforcement actions. Provide clear guidance and information to claimants, employers, and stakeholders regarding program requirements, appeals, and obligations. Prepare and maintain detailed case files, reports, and statistical records using case management systems and databases. Requirements Post-secondary diploma or degree in accounting, finance, business administration, social sciences, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience. Experience in claims assessment, auditing, investigations, or a related analytical role involving financial review and decision making. Working knowledge of rules, regulations, and administrative processes related to benefits or revenue programs. Proficiency with office software and case management or database systems for record keeping and reporting. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex information clearly to diverse audiences. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally and willingness to undergo background checks as required. Required Skills Analytical thinking and numerical aptitude for evaluating financial records and calculating entitlements. Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation, data entry, and case file management. Investigative skills, including interviewing techniques and evidence assessment. Customer service skills with patience and the ability to manage difficult or emotional interactions. Time management and organizational skills to prioritize a caseload and meet deadlines. Proficiency in using business software, electronic communications, and database systems.
