Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Senior Associate Lawyer role based in Vaughan, ON. The Senior Associate will manage a robust file load involving workplace and employment law matters, including advising clients, drafting pleadings and agreements, and representing clients in negotiations, mediations, and hearings. Daily tasks include conducting legal research, preparing opinions, reviewing and drafting policies, and corresponding with clients, opposing counsel, and tribunals. The role involves mentoring junior staff, contributing to internal knowledge-building, and supporting business development through client presentations and firm marketing initiatives. The Senior Associate will work closely with partners to develop case strategies and maintain high standards of client service and professional ethics. Qualifications Licensed to practice law in Ontario, in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario, with at least 4 years of post-call experience in workplace, employment, or labor law. Strong experience in advocacy and dispute resolution, including drafting pleadings, appearing before courts or administrative tribunals, and handling negotiations and mediations. Proficiency in legal research and writing, including preparing legal opinions, contracts, workplace policies, and client advisory materials. Demonstrated client service skills, including clear communication, sound judgment, and the ability to provide practical, business-focused advice. Ability to manage multiple files independently, prioritize competing deadlines, and maintain organized, detailed file records. Experience mentoring or supervising junior legal staff and contributing to a collaborative team environment. Interest in business development, such as networking, delivering presentations, or contributing to thought leadership in workplace law. High level of professional ethics, discretion, and commitment to equity, diversity, and respectful workplace practices.
