About the role
Horizon Recruitment is recruiting for a Sub-Contracts Specialist to support a growing portfolio of capital and industrial projects. This is a maternity leave coverage with an initial term of approximately 6 months, with the possibility of extension based on business needs. The successful candidate will help manage the full contract lifecycle, partnering with project teams to reduce risk, support successful project delivery, and ensure commercial agreements are executed effectively.
Responsibilities: Lead the full contract lifecycle from strategy through closeout for a variety of capital and operational projects. Develop contract strategies that align with project objectives, commercial requirements, and risk management goals. Coordinate and manage competitive procurement and RFP processes. Evaluate commercial proposals and support technical evaluation activities. Negotiate contract terms, recommend award decisions, and prepare agreements for execution. Administer contracts after award, including change management, invoice review, claims resolution, and contract closeout. Partner with project managers and technical teams to provide practical contract guidance throughout project execution. Work closely with legal and other internal stakeholders to protect business interests and ensure compliance. Identify commercial risks early and recommend practical solutions. Maintain accurate contract documentation, reporting, and records. Contribute to the improvement of contract management processes, templates, and best practices. Build strong working relationships with internal teams, contractors, and external partners.
Requirements: 8+ years of contract management experience supporting EPC, EPCM, mining, shipbuilding / industrial, or major capital projects. Experience managing the complete contract lifecycle from procurement through contract administration and closeout. Strong knowledge of contract strategies, commercial terms, negotiation, and dispute resolution. Experience leading RFP processes and evaluating commercial proposals. Solid understanding of project execution and contract risk management. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Post-secondary education in a related field.
Remuneration: $70 - $80 per hour Hybrid work arrangement available after onboarding period
