Overview

The Director of AI Governance ensures that TAIRC's research complies with ethical standards and regulatory requirements while contributing to policy development.

Responsibilities

Develop ethical and governance frameworks: Create responsible AI guidelines, covering fairness, accountability, and transparency. Conduct AI risk assessments: Analyze technical and societal risks associated with AI systems and work with researchers to mitigate them. Manage compliance and ethics programs: Oversee bias mitigation, data privacy, and legal compliance across projects. Coordinate with legal and compliance teams: Work with the legal department to ensure adherence to regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA). Establish training and awareness programs: Educate staff about ethical AI, legal obligations, and best practices. Develop metrics and reporting: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for responsible AI, track compliance, and report to leadership.

Qualifications

Advanced degree in law, public policy, computer science, or a related field. Extensive knowledge of AI ethics, risk management, and data protection regulations. Experience developing policies and regulatory frameworks. Strong analytical and communication skills for training and reporting.

Volunteer contribution interest may be reviewed only as a voluntary, scoped pathway. Educational internship interest requires separate supervision, educational purpose, and legal review. Advisory expressions of interest are not board or formal advisory appointments. Future compensated employment is contingent on funding, approval, legal compliance, and a separate written offer.
