VeraSafe is proud to be certified as a Great Place to Work©, with 96% of our employees affirming that we are truly a great place to work. This means we foster trust, collaboration, and a positive work environment. We are committed to maintaining this standard of meaningful work, work-life balance, and a supportive community. VeraSafe frequently hires for attorney and consultant positions on a rolling basis. We are growing rapidly and seek to proactively build a strong talent pool to meet sustained, increasing client demand.

About the Role: This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with more than 10 years of experience who wants to join a team working on the cutting edge of privacy and data protection, and who wants to further develop a practice in an in-demand, high-tech area of law.

While this role requires professional experience in privacy law, we are prepared to welcome you to our team with a robust and established onboarding and training process. We typically advance people more quickly than your typical law firm, and we do it on an individual basis (no lockstep promotions or compensation). This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who wants to join a team working on the cutting edge of privacy and data protection, and who wants to further develop a practice in an in-demand area of law at the intersection of privacy and life science. We are inundated with business from clients in the healthcare, life science, and pharmaceutical spaces who love the way we advise on privacy compliance (hence the need for you!).

Note: There is a 1-3 hour skills assessment associated with the recruitment for this position. We know this is a burden, but we think it’s worth it, and we appreciate you taking the time to complete it. We’ve found it enables us to find the best attorneys, regardless of their experience, where they went to law school, or where they were trained. We want smart, kind, creative lawyers, plain and simple, and this assessment is a crucial part of our ability to hire this way.

We are not your typical legal job. We use project managers to keep our remote team organized and our projects streamlined and on-track. We encourage our team members to travel and to make use of our ability to work as digital nomads, whether that means spending a few months abroad or on extended trips to be near family. We collaborate closely (you won’t feel like you’re working in isolation) and we actively encourage sharing of credit for work well done, resources, and advice (and penalize the reverse). We are not biglaw. We do top-notch work for interesting clients, yet we pride ourselves on our team members being happy, with time and energy for a life outside of work, which we believe makes us better attorneys who don’t burn out.

The bottom line: If you want to learn or go deeper practicing privacy law, if you want to practice in a problem-solving environment focused on giving excellent and yet actionable advice, if you want to work with a global team of friendly, brilliant people, if you want the flexibility to work in a way that makes sense to you, please apply!
