About the role
Remote • Indefinite-term & Full-Time Contract Paid time off and public holidays.
For this role, a native English speaker is required.
About Us AirAdvisor is a fast-growing TravelTech startup on a mission to ensure air travelers receive the compensation they are entitled to for flight disruptions, including delays, cancellations, missed connections, and other airline-related issues like overbooking. We operate across the EU, the UK, the US, Canada, and beyond, with a clear mission to protect air passenger rights worldwide.
Our Impact: 690,000+ claims processed for clients from 221 countries • 4.6-star rating based on 33,000+ reviews • Operating in 21 languages • Ambitious goal: 1 million claims by end of 2026
Current Business Model: B2C, commission-based. Soon launching: Annual subscription coverage product - insurance for flights and baggage disruptions caused by airlines' negligence. Exploring: new revenue streams and geographical markets.
The Opportunity This is not a blogging role. We are looking for a Marketing Content Specialist who writes to drive measurable business outcomes, i.e., organic traffic that converts to claims, landing pages that move passengers from curiosity to action, and direct-response copy that closes the gap between awareness and submission. Your focus is the content itself: research, writing, testing, and iterating until the numbers move.
The right person for this role understands that a piece of content is only as good as what it does for the business. You will be expected to track rankings, conversion rates, and claim-start volume, and to report against those metrics, NOT word counts or publish dates.
What You Will Do Content Creation & SEO Research, write, and publish high-quality SEO content: long-form guides, airline and airport-specific pages, FAQ clusters, and comparison pieces targeted at passengers who are actively searching for compensation information under EU261, UK261, the Montreal Convention, and equivalent regulations. Conduct keyword research using Ahrefs, SEMrush, or Google Search Console to identify high-intent, bottom-of-funnel opportunities where strong content can capture existing demand. Optimize existing content that already ranks and receives traffic: rewriting, restructuring, and refreshing to improve conversion rates, not only visibility. Translate complex passenger-rights law, legal terminology, and claims processes into clear, benefit-driven, trust-building copy that a first-time claimant can understand and act on within minutes.
Direct Response & Conversion Write high-converting B2C content across the full customer journey: landing pages, claim-form supporting copy, email sequences, ad copy, and in-product messaging, always with a focus on driving the passenger to start and complete a claim. Collaborate with the marketing, product, and design teams to align messaging across every touchpoint, ensuring that every piece of content contributes to acquisition, document completion, and revenue. Apply direct-response principles: urgency, clarity, benefit-first framing, objection handling, and social proof to copy that needs to perform, not just inform.
Testing & Optimisation Continuously test, optimize, and iterate content using data-driven insights: A/B testing headlines, CTAs, page structures, and email subject lines to improve conversion rates and claim-start volume. Monitor content performance in Google Analytics (GA4) and Google Search Console; report on what is working, what is not, and what the next iteration should be. Build a repeatable testing framework so experimentation becomes a regular part of the content workflow rather than a one-off.
Email & Multi-Channel Content Write and optimize email marketing sequences: welcome flows, case-update communications, post-payout referral requests, and re-engagement campaigns with conversion metrics as the primary success measure. (Experience a plus; willingness to learn is required.) Support video content briefs and scripts where needed. (Experience a plus; not a barrier to entry.)
What You Bring Must-Have Requirements 3 to 5 years of experience in content marketing; not content writing alone, but content marketing: a demonstrated understanding of how content drives organic traffic, rankings, and conversions. Proven track record of transforming complex, technical, legal, or financial products into simple, benefit-driven messaging that audiences act on. Passenger rights, legaltech, fintech, or insurance experience is a strong advantage. Strong grounding in direct-response marketing: you know how to write copy that moves people, not just copy that reads well. You understand funnel stages, calls to action, and the difference between content that informs and content that converts. Portfolio that you can tie directly to measurable business outcomes: organic traffic growth, improvements in conversion or claim-start rates, revenue-attributed campaigns, or ranking gains on high-intent keywords. Portfolios without performance data will not be considered. Basic working knowledge of SEO content principles: keyword intent, on-page structure, internal linking, and meta copy. You do not need to be a technical SEO; the team covers that. Familiarity with at least one SEO tool (Ahrefs, SEMrush, or Moz) and comfort working in Google Search Console and Google Analytics (GA4) to read and act on performance data. Proficiency in independent content publishing. Fluency in AI tools: Claude, ChatGPT, or equivalent, as a production aid for research, outlining, and source identification. Please review the note below on AI and writing standards before applying. Native English. Every piece of content you produce must be precise, idiomatic, and carry a distinct human voice.
Nice-to-Have Requirements Experience with email marketing: writing and structuring sequences, optimizing subject lines, and reading campaign metrics. Experience with CRO tools or A/B testing platforms (Hotjar, VWO, Google Optimize, or similar). Experience writing or scripting video content. Fluency in French or another major European language (German, Spanish, Italian, Polish).
What We Are Not Looking For Candidates whose portfolios demonstrate only content volume: number of articles published, total word count, without any evidence of what those articles achieved. Candidates with no direct-response or conversion-focused experience. Organic blogging for brand awareness alone is not the model here. Candidates who cannot explain, in a conversation, how they measure the success of a piece of content beyond pageviews or impressions.
A NOTE ON WRITING STANDARDS AND AI USE AirAdvisor uses AI tools across the business, and this role is expected to use them intelligently. However, we distinguish sharply between using AI as a research and workflow aid versus using AI as a writing substitute.
⚠ This is a firm requirement, not a preference AI may be used for: baseline research, topic ideation, content outlines, source identification, and limited fact-checking support. AI may not be used for: writing the article, drafting copy, or generating paragraphs that appear in the final published piece. Every published piece must be independently researched, fact-checked by the author, and written in a voice and tone that is demonstrably human. Copy that reads as AI-generated structurally, tonally, or factually is a disqualifying standard. We screen for AI-generated writing at the assessment stage. Candidates who use AI to complete writing tasks during the hiring process will not progress.
PORTFOLIO REQUIREMENTS Your application must include a portfolio or writing samples that demonstrate the following.
At least two content pieces published under your name (or with attribution you can verify), accompanied by performance data: organic traffic, ranking position, conversion rate, click-through rate, or revenue attribution. Screenshots from GA4, Search Console, or similar are accepted. At least one example of direct-response copy: a landing page, email sequence, or ad copy where you can describe what you were trying to achieve and what the result was. A brief written summary explaining the business problem each piece was addressing, what you did, and what changed as a result.
Why You Will Love Working With Us Remote-first culture with flexible start and end times. Your working hours will be easily recorded in our time and work activity-tracking application, allowing you to adjust your working day to your personal needs and capacities. Paid Time Off & Public Holidays, because work-life balance matters. Professional Growth Opportunities –> work on a global expansion, new product and services development, and new market entry.
