Job Title: Data Designer – Data Governance & Regulatory Compliance Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 4 Days Onsite, Monday to Thursday | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM) Job Type: Contract Openings: 4
Role Overview We are seeking experienced Data Designers to support enterprise-wide data governance, regulatory, and privacy initiatives within a large financial services environment. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in data governance frameworks, metadata management, enterprise data cataloging, and data lineage, combined with experience managing complex cross-functional stakeholders. This role requires someone who can bridge business and technology teams while ensuring compliance with regulatory and privacy requirements through effective governance processes. Key Responsibilities Design and support enterprise data governance initiatives across business and technology teams. Develop and maintain data governance artifacts including metadata, data lineage, and data mapping documentation. Support implementation and maintenance of Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC) solutions. Participate in Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) activities and ensure adherence to privacy and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with business, risk, compliance, and technology stakeholders to define and govern critical data assets. Drive governance approvals, issue resolution, and decision-making through established governance forums. Support data quality, data management, and regulatory compliance initiatives. Facilitate stakeholder meetings, workshops, and governance reviews. Coordinate project activities while ensuring timely delivery of project milestones. Work within Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies as required. Required Qualifications Experience in one or more of the following domains: Project Management Data Governance Data Management Risk Management Privacy Regulatory Compliance Strong understanding of: Data Governance Frameworks Metadata Management Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC) Data Lineage Data Mapping Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) processes Regulatory and Privacy Compliance requirements Experience working within large financial institutions or other highly regulated industries. Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships across business and technology organizations. Experience driving governance processes, issue resolution, approvals, and compliance activities. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Working knowledge of both Agile and Waterfall project delivery methodologies. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting enterprise data governance transformation initiatives. Financial services or banking industry experience. Familiarity with enterprise metadata and governance tools.
