We are seeking a licensed, contract Surveillance Investigator to join our team in Calgary.
This role is ideal for a motivated, adaptable investigator who is comfortable working independently, thrives in dynamic environments, and is committed to producing high-quality investigative results.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct strategic mobile and stationary surveillance in urban and rural environments Accurately observe, document, and report investigative findings Produce clear, detailed, and timely written reports Conduct background investigations on individuals and corporations Adapt to varying schedules, including early mornings, occasional late evenings, and extended shifts Travel to various locations throughout Alberta, occasionally/as required Adhere strictly to MDSI’s investigative methods, standards, best practices, and code of ethics
Education Required
Valid Alberta Private Investigator license Own discreet, nondescript vehicle suitable for surveillance operations Vehicle equipped with limo-tinted rear windows, or willingness to obtain prior to commencing surveillance Own camcorder (not a cell phone) with superior optical zoom & stabilization, a covert camera, and a computer, or willingness to acquire this equipment over time (can borrow equipment to start). Confident, skilled driver with strong situational awareness Physically fit and capable of extended periods of surveillance, both in a vehicle and on foot Willing and able to work alone for prolonged periods Flexible availability with the ability to start early mornings on a regular basis

Compensation
Other Requirements:
Competitive hourly compensation plus mileage, disbursements, and travel expenses Opportunity for growth and increased responsibility for committed, high-performing investigators

Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour
