Job Title: Articling Student (2026–2027 Licensing Cycle) Company: WVGB Law Group Website: wvgblaw.com Location: Ottawa, ON (Hybrid / In-Office) Practice Areas: Personal Injury, Insurance Litigation, Wills & Estates, Employment & General Litigation Term: 8 to 10 Months (Starting Fall 2026)

About WVGB Law Group

Formed in 2021 through the merger of Villeneuve Litigation P.C. and Wolfe Lawyers P.C., WVGB Law Group is a premier boutique litigation firm located in Ottawa’s west end. We represent clients across Ottawa and Eastern Ontario in Personal Injury, Insurance Denial (LTD) disputes, Wills & Estates, and general/employment litigation.

Our guiding philosophy is simple: We prioritize our clients’ rights with expert, actionable legal solutions, and we never let them get lost in the shuffle. Because of our partner-led model, our clients work directly with senior counsel. As our articling student, you will too.

The WVGB Mentorship Experience

We don’t hire students to sit in a back room reviewing document dumps. We hire students to train them to be future litigation associates. You will work directly with partners Justin A. Villeneuve, Bianca Bielecki, and Charles Genest, learning the day-to-day realities of active file management and trial preparation. Our firm runs on process-driven excellence. We will teach you how to build airtight files, practice meticulous due diligence ("if we can't prove we sent it, we didn't send it"), write concise and persuasive court materials, and manage complex client relationships with empathy and professionalism.

What You Will Do

Draft Litigation Materials: Draft pleadings, Motion records, Affidavits of Documents, and mediation memoranda for Personal Injury, Long-Term Disability disputes, and employment matters. Hands-on Estate Administration: Assist with the drafting of Wills, Powers of Attorney, and navigating complex probate and executor applications. Conduct High-Level Legal Research: Perform deep-dive research and draft clear legal opinions on cutting-edge civil procedure and liability issues. Direct Client Interaction: Participate in client intake interviews, meet with witnesses, and assist in preparing clients for examinations for discovery. Court and Tribunal Exposure: Attend court hearings, discoveries, mediations, and LAT hearings alongside our partners.

Who You Are

LSO Licensing Candidate: You are registered with the Law Society of Ontario and eligible to commence an articling placement for the 2026–2027 licensing term. Bilingualism (English/French) is a Major Asset: Because we take great pride in representing both English and French-speaking communities in Ottawa and the Ottawa Valley, strong bilingual communication skills are highly valued. Meticulously Detail-Oriented: You take pride in the quality of your work, believe in double-checking the fine print, and understand that keeping organized files is the backbone of successful litigation. Empathetic & Professional: You understand that our clients are often going through some of the most challenging physical, emotional, and financial times of their lives. Eager to Learn: You welcome constructive feedback and want to actively build a career in advocacy.

What We Offer

Competitive compensation exceeding the LSO's mandatory minimum requirement. Genuine, face-to-face mentorship and an open-door firm culture. Exposure to diverse, high-stakes litigation files from day one. A supportive environment that values continuous learning and procedural excellence.
