Due to continued growth within a busy national practice, the firm is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support a team of lawyers specializing in corporate restructuring, insolvency, and commercial law matters. Your new role Working alongside leading practitioners in a fast-paced practice, you will play a critical role in ensuring seamless file management, exceptional client service, and efficient administration of complex legal matters. Key responsibilities include: Managing calendars, meeting schedules, travel arrangements, and critical deadlines Drafting, formatting, revising, and proofreading legal documents, correspondence, and transactional materials Maintaining and organizing large electronic and physical files Coordinating document execution, closing deliverables, and transaction records Preparing court and insolvency-related filings and supporting restructuring proceedings Assisting with document production, due diligence, and corporate record maintenance Opening new files, conducting conflict searches, and managing file administration Liaising with clients, financial institutions, insolvency professionals, opposing counsel, and court offices Preparing accounts, entering dockets, and supporting billing processes Managing high volumes of confidential information while maintaining exceptional attention to detail This position offers exposure to sophisticated restructuring, insolvency, receivership, bankruptcy, commercial litigation, and corporate transactions. What you'll need to succeed The successful candidate will possess: 3+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant in a corporate, banking, insolvency, restructuring, or commercial law practice Experience supporting Partners and senior lawyers within a high-volume environment Strong document production and formatting skills, including complex legal documents Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Outlook, and Excel Excellent communication and client service skills Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving Experience with insolvency, restructuring, corporate transactions, or commercial litigation will be considered a significant asset What you'll get in return In return, you will join a highly respected legal team handling some of Canada's most significant corporate matters.
