Our practice is primarily in commercial, securities and public law, at trial and appellate levels. We are currently looking for a full-time Intermediate/Senior Paralegal/Legal Administrative Assistant (LAA) to join our growing firm. The position provides an opportunity to work with a vibrant, hard-working team of professionals in a collegial environment. The successful candidate will be a team-player, energetic, flexible, highly motivated, and enjoy the variety of work that comes with the small firm model. Responsibilities Perform legal assistant/paralegal duties in various areas of law for all levels of Court; Prepare correspondence and documents ensuring compliance with Rules of Court; Conduct file management, including preparing and maintaining binders/documents and filing as needed. Maintain a well-organized work environment and implement efficient processes that minimizes lawyers’ administrative load, including an active bring forward system. Coordinating bookings for meetings, mediations, discoveries, and hearings. Other duties/responsibilities as delegated. Skills A strong orientation to delivering a high-level standard of service, including professionalism, reliability, and mature judgment. Critical thinking skills, a high level of initiative, and a proactive approach to problem solving. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, produce high-quality accurate work, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. A thorough understanding of litigation legal procedures at different levels of court. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion with sensitive information. Strong organizational and document management skills with exceptional attention to detail. Advanced technical skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Adobe, Soluno, and iManage. Experience with e-discovery software, preferably Everlaw, is an asset. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a paralegal or legal assistant. Graduation from an accredited Legal Administrative Assistant (LAA) program is considered an asset. Experience in commercial litigation and/or personal injury practice is considered an asset. Compensation McEwan Partners offers a competitive compensation and benefits package as well as a diverse and supportive work environment. The base annual salary range for candidates with the required experience is $70,000 to $90,000.
