Our client is seeking a Junior Associate Lawyer (1+ years post-call experience) to join its Debt Recovery and Real Estate practice in Toronto. This role offers a unique opportunity for a junior lawyer to build their expertise in debt recovery and real estate transactions while receiving hands-on mentorship and guidance from highly experienced lawyers. Key Responsibilities Assist with and manage mortgage enforcement and debt recovery matters. Handle residential real estate transactions, including purchases, sales, and refinancing. Draft, review, and execute legal documentation related to mortgage enforcement and real estate transactional matters. Manage files from opening through completion. Liaise with clients, lenders, financial institutions, realtors, and opposing counsel. Support senior lawyers on complex files and ongoing practice development initiatives. Maintain organized case management practices and meet deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment. Qualifications Licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario. 1+ years of post-call experience in mortgage enforcement, debt recovery, real estate transactions, or a combination thereof. Exposure to residential purchase and sale transactions, refinances, mortgage registrations, title review, and real estate closings. Familiarity with mortgage enforcement proceedings, debt recovery matters, and related enforcement processes is considered a strong asset. Strong drafting, analytical, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple files and competing deadlines effectively. Excellent interpersonal, attention to detail, and communication skills, with a professional and client-focused approach. Requirements
