Job summary
We are supporting a reputable law firm in their search for Labour & Employment Lawyers (Junior Associate and Mid-Level Associate). The firm is widely recognized as leaders in employment, labour, human rights and workers compensation. They have strong practices across the entire labour and employment spectrum and work with clients across multiple industries. Due to client growth and demand, this firm is looking to bolster the team by adding talented Junior and Mid-Level Associates. Key Responsibilities: Advise employers on a range of labour and employment matters including workplace policies, employment agreements, terminations and employee relations. Assist with wrongful dismissal, employment litigation and workplace disputes. Work directly with Partners on labour relations matters. Draft and review employment agreements, policies, settlement agreements and releases. Prepare for and attend discoveries, mediations, hearing and other proceedings. Communicate directly with clients and assist with managing files from inception through resolution. Conduct legal research and prepare practical memoranda. Stay current on developments in employment, labour legislation and case law. Ideal Candidate: 1-3 years post call experience for the Junior Associate hire and between 4-8 years experience for the Mid-Level Associate hire. Member in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia. Must have experience in employment litigation, labour relations or workplace advisory. Strong legal research, writing and analytical skills. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines. A collaborative, entrepreneurial and team-oriented approach. Compensation: The firm offers a competitive base salary commensurate with experience. Requirements
