For over 60 years, the Preszler Injury Lawyers has restricted its practice to claims arising from motor vehicle accidents, slip/trip and falls, product liability, sexual assault, wrongful dismissal, accident benefits, disability claims and medical malpractice. Preszler Injury Lawyers only represents Plaintiffs. About the Role We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and motivated Legal Assistant to join our personal injury litigation team.The successful candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced legal environment and will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to lawyers throughout the litigation process. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with clients, managing files, and being involved in all stages of personal injury litigation. Key Responsibilities Manage and maintain personal injury litigation files from file opening through resolution Assist lawyers with the day-to-day management of their practice Draft and prepare correspondence, pleadings, notices, motions, affidavits, and other legal documents Prepare and serve litigation documents in accordance with the Rules of Civil Procedure Prepare materials for examinations for discovery, mediations, medical assessments and other appointments Maintain lawyer and file calendars and ensure all limitation periods and procedural deadlines are properly diarized Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, insurance companies, experts and other parties Obtain and organize medical, employment, financial and other records Assist with undertakings and follow-up documentation after discoveries Assist with settlement documentation and file resolution Prepare and organize brief materials and productions Monitor incoming correspondence and ensure appropriate follow-up Perform legal research and administrative tasks as required Maintain accurate and organized electronic files Other duties are required to support the litigation team Qualifications & Skills Previous experience in personal injury litigation is strongly preferred Law clerk or legal assistant diploma is an asset Strong knowledge of the Ontario Rules of Civil Procedure and the litigation process Excellent organizational and time management skills Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines Excellent written and verbal communication skills Professional and compassionate approach to client services Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a team Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Experience with legal practice management software is an asst Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is someone who takes ownership of their files, is proactive, dependable, and understands the importance of deadlines in personal injury litigation.
