Job Description: Reporting to the General Counsel, this position is a key addition to Onni's in-house litigation practice. You will take ownership of a diverse litigation portfolio, managing matters from pre-litigation through to resolution across British Columbia and, as required, other jurisdictions. The role offers meaningful exposure to sophisticated commercial disputes and an opportunity to contribute directly to the legal strategy of a major real estate enterprise. Perks: * Competitive pay & a Comprehensive Benefits Package. * Benefits include company-paid extended health care, dental care, vision care, life insurance, critical illness, and critical life insurance. * Annual Education Allowance * Generous Referral Program * Fun & collaborative company culture with lots of team-building events * Local discounts to restaurants, clothing stores, personal training, and more * Free access to a fully equipped gym * Friends and Family rates for hospitality brands What You Will Do: * Manage civil litigation matters including construction disputes, contract claims, leasing disputes, and regulatory proceedings * Instruct and supervise external litigation counsel; provide strategic direction on file management, litigation budgets, and risk assessment * Conduct early case assessments, prepare litigation strategies, and advise internal stakeholders on exposure and recommended course of action * Review pleadings, draft demand letters, settlement agreements, and litigation-related correspondence * Advise on commercial leasing disputes, enforcement of lease provisions, and landlord-tenant matters across the portfolio * Support the broader legal team on transactional and general corporate matters as workload requires What You Bring: * Member in good standing of the Law Society of British Columbia, 1-3 years post-call * Strong written and oral skills * Sound commercial judgment and ability to communicate legal risk clearly to non-legal stakeholders * Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to proactively manage competing priorities Assets & nice-to-haves * Experience with drafting and negotiating commercial leases * exposure to builders lien proceedings * knowledge of Clio case management software Salary Range: $110,000 - 120,000 About The Company: Onni [https://www.onni.com/about/] For over half a century, Onni has been building communities for people to live, work, and play.
