Join us as Legal Counsel, and you’ll be looking at a career-defining role based in St-Bruno (QC), CA.

Provide legal support and expertise with regard to legal issues arising out of the business activity with customers, partners, and subcontractors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare, review and negotiate contracts, or other legal documents with an acceptable level of risks
  • Support the business in all legal and contractual matters including claim management, dispute settlement
  • Contractual and legal evaluation of tender documents
  • Support the business on litigation, arbitration or other dispute matters
  • Handling of corporate law matters
  • Promoting the Alstom Code of Ethics and adhering to the highest standards of ethical conduct.

REQUIRED PROFILE:

  • Law degree (BCL or LLB)
  • Admitted to the Quebec or Ontario Bar Association
  • Master Degree (Law or Business) (Desirable)
  • Experience in an international business environment or law firm.
  • Familiar with international contracts Previous exposure to international practice through studies or work experience
  • Familiar with public tenders
  • Fluent in French
  • Excellent English language skills Desirable:
  • Private practice experience in international law firm is a plus
  • Experience in construction or commercial litigation or arbitration
  • Open-minded and solution oriented
  • Teamwork spirit
  • Ability to provide sound risk analysis and reasoning
  • Willingness to take initiatives and responsibilities Pro-activity & responsiveness
