Based in St. Bruno, Quebec, you will be responsible to support and govern various legal and contractual matters related to the activities of the centralized Procurement & Supply Chain function. This covers off cycle legal matters of multi-divisional or global reach as much as on cycle bid and project related legal activities. The focus of your job will be being the business partners for the Procurement & Supply Chain function, which includes inter alia negotiating with third parties (incl. drafting of legal documents), ensuring compliance with policies and directives and identifying and sharing of best practices. It also include pro-actively identifying legal issues through a comprehensive risk analysis and developing a mitigation strategy. 

You also will be the key counterpart for business partners and working on matters with a high degree of complexity and/or with strategic importance for the company.

You will be acting as the first point of contact for your field of expertise for many colleagues within the Procurement & Supply Chain function and across Bombardier Transportation. You will not only be bringing advice and expertise to complex matters but also you will coaching and training other colleagues. You will set quality standards and strives for the continuous improvement of practices, processes, templates and tools.

 

In your role you will:

 

  • Support a centralized procurement function throughout the BT product life cycle from the design phase to the after sales activities with a harmonized global legal approach whilst managing specific project related risks in this context;
  • Be the business partner for all strategic procurement activities for design, bids, project and site related product and non-product related sourcing activities (incl. GPAs, GTC, STCs, Teaming Agreements,  RFI/RFQ, IS/IT contracts and /or contracts with a software focus, supply and service/consultancy agreements, research & development agreements, outsourcing agreements etc.);
  • Provide necessary support for critical supplier claims by advising on rights and obligations agreed in procurement contracts, global inventory management, best practices and process implementation governance (e.g. support for charge back process, claim review boards etc.);
  • Worldwide overall legal lead in drafting, negotiating and rolling out standardized global legal procurement frameworks as well as individual contracts;
  • Govern and monitor the establishment of robust and adequate back-to-back supplier contracts in Divisions/ Regions not jeopardizing global supplier relationship principles;
  • Design and give trainings on legal issues and contract management to the global procurement organization (incl. the global procurement hub in shared services structure).

                                                                                                                                     

As our ideal candidate:

 

  • You hold an University degree in law and preferably, a focus on contract or business law;
  • You posses at least three (3) to five (5) years of experience of which at least (two) 2 years in the Legal function of REG/DIV/GRP (or of company comparable to BT);
  • You are available to occasionally travel (5% of the time);
  • You have played a key role in a number of complex bids or projects;
  • Your English and French communication skills are excellent, both written and spoken.
