General responsibilities of the position :

Under the direction of the Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) Lead Senior Ethics & Compliance Officer (ECO), the Deputy Senior ECO will assist with overseeing program implementation for Ethics and Compliance (E&C) initiatives for P&WC. This role will also be responsible for working closely with the Lead Senior ECO in developing strategic initiatives to mitigate and reduce associated risks, drive culture change, ensure appropriate infrastructure is in place and effective, and regularly communicate with and train all levels of management and employees on E&C issues.

Specific responsibilities of position :

The Ethics and Compliance organisation acts as a resource to management and employees for guidance on the Code of Ethics and other corporate policies. As Deputy Senior ECO, you will:

  • Provide leadership and support in the development of programs, initiatives and policies for the E&C program to prevent and investigate illegal, unethical, or improper conduct by employees and third parties supporting Pratt & Whitney;
  • Assist Lead Senior ECO in managing the part-time P&WC ECO resources;
  • Provide strategic guidance and program updates to P&WC leadership;
  • Provide guidance to employees on Code of Ethics and other corporate policies;
  • Institute and maintain an effective E&C communication program for the organization;
  • Monitor the performance of the E&C program and related activities on a continuing basis, taking appropriate steps to improve its effectiveness;
  • Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk, including through Enterprise Risk Management process; develop/implement corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues, and provide general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future; and
  • Build strong partnerships with key functional and business areas (Human Resources, Finance, etc.) and empower resources at all locations worldwide.

Qualifications required :

  • Bachelor degree with 5 to 7 years' experience in an Ethics and/or Compliance environment;
  • Knowledge of compliance and risk program management;
  • Experience in internal audit and/or investigations is a strong asset;
  • Experience managing complex projects;
  • Full working proficiency in both English and French;
  • Ability to influence various stakeholders without direct report authority;
  • Ability to manage complex human relations;
  • Proven and demonstrated sense of integrity and transparency;
  • Demonstrated qualities of diplomacy, problem solving and decisiveness;
  • Proven ability to work successfully in a team environment;
  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
