We are currently recruiting for a Manager, Experiential Education & Career Development to work with Admissions & Student Services, Osgoode Hall Law School for this exciting opportunity. 

Are you a legal professional with managerial experience in the experiential education field? Do you possess extensive knowledge of the legal profession and the professional considerations that are of concern to legal professionals and law students? Are you familiar with a faculty and university environment, including policy setting bodies and procedures, academic and non- academic policies and regulations? Do you possess a thorough understanding of the principles of career development and counselling? Are you able to demonstrate competence with various software packages including word processing, database, spreadsheets, and statistical analysis? If so, keep reading!

In this role, you will be responsible for the design and delivery of high quality career development, job search and experiential education programs and services to Osgoode Hall Law School students and alumni. The Manager will lead and manage the Osgoode's Career Development Office and the Office of Experiential Education and will be part of a management team that is responsible for the development, implementation and management of the Office of Admissions and Student Services. The clinical education offerings at Osgoode Hall Law School are the most extensive in Canada and amongst the most innovative in the world. They include: Clinics and Intensive Programs, Mooting, International Legal Partnerships (IPL), the Summer Internship Program and the Osgoode Public Interest Requirement (OPIR). The Manager assesses current and potential experiential education opportunities, develops strategic plans for the implementation of experiential learning strategies, and oversees the implementation of the initiatives and tracking of praxicum requirements. Additionally, the Manager will act as a resource person to faculty and will effectively liaise with stakeholder groups across the University and externally with community groups, legal clinics, law firms, organizations, participating agencies and other constituent groups, students, student clubs, Faculty committees, university partners, etc. to sustain and grow the programs. Osgoode Hall Law School offers its students skilled and knowledgeable career programming and counseling in order to ensure their success in an increasingly competitive legal employment environment. As an experienced legal professional with extensive contacts in the legal community, the Manager will ensure the highest standard of delivery of career development services to Osgoode students and alumni.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will possess:

JD, LL.B., or equivalent and call to the Bar. University degree in Education with a focus on experiential learning would be preferred. In addition, the successful incumbent will possess three to five years of managerial experience in the experiential education field, in particular with facilitating the introduction, management and evaluation of experiential education in a complex academic setting. Three to five years of experience in facilitating job placements and/or law student recruitment and working within the legal community: not-for-profit, volunteer and private sectors, as well as the broad public sector. Additional degree or certificate in education, counselling and/or career counselling is an asset.
