IT/Commercial Lawyer -2 year contract position
The Legal Services Branch provides expert, timely and responsive legal counsel and corporate services to every division of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board. We are currently seeking a Commercial Lawyer with a strong information technology background.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Review, draft and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including, hardware, software, cloud and service-acquisition contracts
Provide support through the entire procurement process
Requirements and Qualifications:
The successful candidate must possess a Law Degree from a recognized institution and membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
3 to 7 years relevant experience
Call to the Bar of the Province of Ontario
Excellent communication, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills, computer literacy, the ability to work independently with a minimum of support resources and the ability to work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
Committed, motivated, pragmatic, results-oriented and collegial
Knowledge and experience related to one or both of the following areas will be considered an asset: public procurement and privacy.
As a precondition of employment, the WSIB will require a prospective candidate to undergo a criminal records name check prior to or at any time following hire.
