POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking an Audio Visual Specialist to join the IT Support Services team within our Business Technology department. The Support Services team is responsible for the delivery, availability, and performance of Dentons’s technology services. This includes messaging, document management, Audio Visual services, Internet services, and remote access, amongst others. This opportunity is ideal for the individual who is passionate about working in a highly virtualized and innovative environment. This role reports to the North America Audio Visual Manager and will be required to work closely with colleagues located across the firm’s Canadian & US offices and in any other global regions that Dentons conducts business.

To be successful in this role the candidate must possess a broad understanding and passion for technology, process, service management and critical thinking. An ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working with new technologies, is a self-learner, and provides exceptional customer service.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Equipment Operation
    • Ensures a flawlessly executed event through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of advanced audiovisual equipment as listed in the technical qualifications section.
    • Troubleshoots technical issues and resolve problems quickly as they arise.
    • Complies with all Company security and safety measures.
    • Ensures equipment is secure from theft and/or damage when in use.
  • Customer Service
    • Provides excellent service and strives to exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external customers.
    • Maintains a positive relationship with all clients through effective communication.
    • Collaborates with internal team on event solutions pre event and during event to ensure the best possible customer satisfaction.
    • Understands and fosters the client relationship.

  • Event Supervision
    • Performs advanced work (pre/during/post event) with local and remote team members.
    • Supervises and directs other technicians during an event.

  • Equipment Maintenance
    • Assists team with proper security, storage, transportation, and maintenance of equipment.
    • Performs inventory and forecasting of equipment needs.

Physical Requirements:

  • Job frequently requires sitting, handling objects with hands.
  • Job occasionally requires standing, walking, reaching, talking, hearing, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ years of progressive AV experience
  • Experience with Video Conferencing, Audio Conferencing and remote presentation technologies
  • Experience with Meeting Room Booking software
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite (2016-2019-O365)
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows OS (Win7-Win10)
  • Ensure ongoing reliability, performance, and scalability of Dentons AV systems
  • Work with consultants, Dentons IT and cross-functional business partners to develop and maintain AV systems for our meeting and events spaces
  • Define expectations for AV technology partners and teams, holding them accountable for successes and failures
  • A foundational knowledge of network interconnectivity
  • Demonstrated ability to document processes and procedures
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent time management skills and a demonstrated ability to consistently meet deliverables
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute within a highly collaborative, virtual team environment
  • Self-motivated, with an ability to work with minimal supervision
  • High standard of ethical conduct and customer service
  • Prior experience working within law firms or other professional services companies is considered an asset
  • Bilingual English/French is considered an asset
  • Demonstrated commitment to privacy and ethical conduct.
