Position Summary

The Dentons Canada Infrastructure group offers ambitious associates the opportunity to be part of a team that is making a difference to the society we live in. We are delivering on projects that improve people’s lives, leveraging our sophisticated marketplace knowledge and industry expertise to advise stakeholders (including project companies, developers, banks, investors, contractors, governments and other public sector bodies) across a multitude of sectors ranging from roads to mass transit, rail, ports, education, healthcare, waste and wastewater treatment, broadband, district energy and renewable power. Our Infrastructure group is building a multi-faceted practice that serves a diverse set of domestic and global clients both in Canada and beyond. We do not seek the safety of cookie-cutter or repeat deals, and aim to continually push the limits of our own comfort zone as we grow with our clients and their legal needs.

Responsibilities

If you have an inquisitive mind, want to be challenged intellectually and to make a difference, and wish to see the projects you are working on receive public praise, this role is for you. As a member of our national Infrastructure group, you will support the execution of projects from inception through operation, including with respect to the organization of joint ventures and project companies, as well as the procurement, design, construction, equipment supply, financing, change management, operation and maintenance aspects of a project.

You will need to have a holistic view while maintaining attention to details, be a problem solver, and be capable of working with all parties to reach a successful outcome. While based in our Ottawa office, you will collaborate with colleagues in our Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Toronto and Montreal offices, to support client needs and further your own development. You will also work with lawyers from other Dentons practice groups (regulatory, real estate, etc.) and our clients’ consultants to provide actionable advice and prepare prudent and informed documentation.

You will be at the table with our clients, allowing you ample opportunity to develop relationships and establish your own practice as you progress through this career path.
