What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will:

• be responsible for coordinating the installation and administration of the various systems throughout the office, conducting needs analysis, preparing various reports and working with clients on meeting their business requirements through the acquisition of hardware, software and line of business applications
• coordinate projects, monitor system performance and maintenance, ensure that all proper documentation for upgrades and/or system purchases are in place
• provide training and update training databases; conduct comprehensive reviews of IT systems to identify irregularities
• act as a liaison between local and corporate offices by representing the client group on ministry committees and projects
• you will assist and co-ordinate electronic disclosure projects and trial presentation techniques in collaboration with the Crown Attorney's Offices and Police

How do I qualify?

Technical Knowledge and Skill:

• you demonstrate knowledge of micro/personal computer system technologies and operating systems, local area network operating procedures, commonly used and customized application software, and database software and design
• you demonstrate knowledge of methods/techniques for systems analysis, design and development, programming concepts and language

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:

• you are able to prioritize your workload while meeting conflicting deadlines
• you can identify, analyze and resolve problems using specialized software
• you can diagnose and research complex information system malfunctions and implement corrective actions
• you can evaluate potential impact of proposed system changes on existing system performance and develop alternatives

Communication and Interpersonal Skills:

• you can explain problems, solutions and technical capabilities to non-technical clients and end users, provide training and instruction in use of software and equipment, conduct interviews and consultations with clients
• you can prepare and maintain documentation on applications, prepare business cases for acquisition of hardware or software, and develop operating instructions and materials for training users
• you can represent client viewpoints on committees and projects
• you can discuss issues with clients and encourage support on the purchase of hardware, software, services and development of local applications
• your interpersonal skills enable you to work effectively as a team member or independently with minimal supervision network
