As a Law Clerk for one of London Ontario’s largest firms and most respected firms specializing in Real Estate/Land Development, Commercial Litigation, Health Law, and Plaintiff Personal injury has an immediate need for a Law Clerk with 5+ years experience who possess the ability to work independently as well as part of a team with an emphasis on delivering excellent service to your clients, excellent organization, verbal and written communication skills, and must be able to multi-task.

Competitive Salary:$50,000 to 65,000K

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS ROLE:
General management of files from open to close, including intake, conflict checks, preparation of retainers and directions, and primary contact between team and client;
Electronic file management (DMS and Primafact), Affidavit of documents etc.
Communicating, and meeting with clients, summarizing of transcripts
Assisting with the preparation and electronic filing of various court materials (e.g. pleadings, trial records, motion materials, bookmarking in Kofax PDF);
Assisting with the preparation and delivery/service of mediation memo, motion records;
Preparing and arranging documents for service
Maintaining lawyer’s calendar and an effective BF System
Preparation of all accounts, with reporting letters to clients, depositing cash receipts, and paying invoices;
Summarizing transcripts and working with client to prepare responses to undertakings;
Conducting corporate searches and bankruptcy searches through Government and Cyberbahn websites.
Transmission of documents through the CMPA Portal and updating HLP. Transmission of documents to LPIC using LawProExtranet;
Compiling motion records in preparation for service – knowledge of bookmarking and links (training provided)
Preparing real estate transactions for closing, with a particular emphasis on new home sales and sales of lots or units on newly registered plans;
Ordering title and off-title searches, corporate searches and municipal reports when deals are firm
Ordering payout statements on sale & mortgage files. Finalizing reports for clients and financial institutions;
WHO YOU ARE:
You have experience in one of the following areas of Law: Real Estate/Land Development, Litigation, Health law, or Plaintiff Personal Injury
You demonstrate excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills and are able to work independently as well in a team environment.
You havea minimum of 5 years experience
You have an above average abilityto multi-task and meet deadlines, andthriveon delivering a high level of professional service to your clients.
