Your responsibilities will include:

• providing expert legal advice on corporate and securities laws, regulations, and compliance matters;
• conducting thorough research and analysis of complex securities-related issues;
• drafting and reviewing legal documents, including prospectuses, private placement memorandums, and investment agreements;
• assisting clients in navigating the intricacies of securities offerings, mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions;
• staying up-to-date with changes in securities laws and industry trends to ensure compliance and inform clients about potential impacts;
• supervising and mentoring junior lawyers and paralegals, and acting as a role model for the rest of the team;
• collaborating with internal teams and clients to develop strategic approaches to achieve desired legal and business outcomes; and participating in business development activities to expand the firm's client base and maintain existing client relationship

Qualifications + Skills

You are a lawyer with:

• a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Securities Lawyer, and eligible to practice law in Alberta;
• in-depth knowledge of Alberta securities law, Canadian securities regulations, and relevant industry guidelines;
• strong analytical skills and the ability to apply legal principles to complex financial situations;
• the ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines;
• demonstrated commitment to professional development and staying current with legal developments; and
• exceptional communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
