The Joint Venture Representative will use an in-depth understanding of joint venture and commercial concepts to provide assistance in making recommendations in response to joint venture and third party commercial proposals. The role will provide an opportunity to utilize and strengthen skills in economics, negotiation, business policy and corporate procedure in support of the oil sands and other lines of business.
This position is located in Calgary, Alberta and is a contract position for a 12 month period.
HOW WILL YOU MAKE YOUR MARK?
Manage existing commercial agreements to ensure delivery of expected value in compliance with the applicable contractual obligations and internal processes
Identify, negotiate and implement new commercial agreements to deliver incremental value to the business
Utilize knowledge of joint venture concepts to provide informed technical recommendations on joint venture proposals
Act as Canadian Natural’s focal point with counter parties and coordinator of internal team involved in those contracts (i.e. Accounting, Operations, etc.)
Develop and coach the Agreement Analyst for the assigned area
Ensure that budgeting and cost allocations are properly set up, completed in a timely fashion, communicated for approval as required
Professional with an engineering, business, accounting or land background with 10+ years of related industry experience and strong commercial skills
Experience in leading complex commercial negotiations and deal implementation
Experience in management of Joint Venture agreements
Experience/knowledge of field operations, preferably oil sands/mining is desired
Experience/knowledge of processes, utilities that support the oil and gas business is desired (i.e. electricity, cogeneration, natural gas and oil transportation, etc.)
Working knowledge of QBLM Joint Interest and Land modules
