It allows businesses to provide financing options to customers during the purchase process. Working with major financing institutions, this award-winning company has approximately $2.5B in funding capacity to fuel the growth of its financing business. As this entrepreneurial company continues to grow, it is seeking a financial services lawyer to join its Legal Department. While the majority of the work will be sophisticated asset-backed / structured finance transactions, there will also be an opportunity to get involved in general corporate / commercial work and eventually have a more generalist practice as you develop. This Toronto position located in The Well, reports to the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer and is in office 3 days / week. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years’ of lending and financial services experience gained from a major firm or corporation. Any experience working on securitization / structured finance transactions would be a strong asset. You should be self-motivated, confident and able to build relationships with business groups. As well, you should possess leadership abilities, including being decisive, confident and having strong communication skills.
