It allows businesses to provide financing options to customers during the purchase process. Working with major financing institutions, this award-winning company has approximately $2.5B in funding capacity to fuel the growth of its financing business. As this entrepreneurial company continues to grow, it is seeking a financial services lawyer to join its Legal Department. While the majority of the work will be sophisticated asset-backed / structured finance transactions, there will also be an opportunity to get involved in general corporate / commercial work and eventually have a more generalist practice as you develop. This Toronto position located in The Well, reports to the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer and is in office 3 days / week. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years’ of lending and financial services experience gained from a major firm or corporation. Any experience working on securitization / structured finance transactions would be a strong asset. You should be self-motivated, confident and able to build relationships with business groups. As well, you should possess leadership abilities, including being decisive, confident and having strong communication skills. Requirements

At least eight years of lending and financial services legal experience gained at a major law firm or corporation is required; securitization or structured finance experience is a strong asset. The candidate should be self-motivated, confident, decisive, able to build relationships with business groups, and possess strong leadership and communication skills.
