Advise private- and public-sector employers on employment and labour matters, including agreements, litigation, human rights, arbitration, collective bargaining, investigations, and dispute resolution. Contribute to the firm’s Canadian expansion through client development, practice growth, and market positioning.
This is truly an exceptional and unique opportunity for a senior employment and labour lawyer to join an established, internationally respected firm as it expands its operations across Canada. This global leader in employment law is the largest practice in the world dedicated exclusively to representing management in workplace matters. With their substantial international footprint and a deeply embedded client base that includes multinational and domestic employers, the firm is known for its sophisticated work, collaborative culture, and forward-looking approach to workplace law. As part of its continued Canadian growth strategy, the firm is expanding its presence in key markets. This presents a rare opportunity to join a globally elite platform at a pivotal stage of its national expansion. Not only will you be working on cutting edge files, but unlike a traditional lateral move the successful candidate will have the opportunity to offer meaningful input into growth, client development, and market positioning. Responsibilities: The practice focuses exclusively on management-side employment and labour law, advising employers across the private and public sectors on employment agreements, wrongful dismissal litigation, human rights matters, grievance arbitrations, discipline and discharge, collective bargaining, labour board proceedings, workplace investigations, and complex dispute resolution. The work is sophisticated, high-level, and often national or cross-border in scope. The Ideal Candidate Will: Have a JD or LLB and be a member of good standing of a Canadian Bar. Be a senior employment and labour lawyer (6+ years call preferred). Have strong experience advising employers. Have demonstrated success handling complex employment litigation and/or labour relations matters. Entrepreneurial mindset and interest in contributing to continued growth. Desire to build within a globally recognized platform. This is a compelling opportunity for a senior lawyer seeking high-quality work, long-term career upside, excellent compensation and the ability to play a meaningful role in the continued expansion of a premier global employment law practice. All discussions remain strictly confidential. Only those applicants with the requisite background will be considered.
