The opportunity… This position reports to the Director of Regulatory Services and is responsible for promoting and verifying compliance with the requirements of the Liquor Act, Cannabis Control and Regulation Act, and associated regulations. The position reviews and processes liquor and cannabis licence applications, conducts inspections, investigations and compliance activities, prepares recommendations and reports, and provides guidance to applicants seeking liquor permits to support compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements. Recent, considerable experience conducting investigations, inspections, compliance monitoring, and enforcement activities preferably in a liquor and cannabis setting. Experience interpreting and applying legislation, regulations, bylaws, and procedures. Experience developing recommendations and providing advice to senior management, preferably in a government or regulatory environment. Demonstrated leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. Experience preparing and presenting applications to decision-making boards. Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and files simultaneously. Additional Information Conditions of Employment: Must be legally entitled to work in Canada. Clear criminal records check – including a vulnerable sectors check. Valid Yukon Class 5 driver’s license. Job Requirements You must be willing to communicate with and provide services to clients demonstrating challenging and at times violent and verbal abusive behaviors. During work hours you may be exposed to and deal with significant work hazards and stressful situations, such as intoxicated patrons; noisy, dark and poorly ventilated premises. Willingness and ability to work in, and travel to, Yukon communities in all seasons, approximately 10-15 times a year (from 2 to 14 days) by aircraft or vehicle. The position consistently is required to perform evening inspections of licensed premises alone and on a regular basis which requires working late evenings, until after midnight and on weekend shifts & statutory holidays. Requirements

Candidates must have significant experience in regulatory enforcement and the ability to interpret legislation. A valid Yukon Class 5 driver's license and a clear criminal record check are mandatory.
