We’re hiring a Family Lawyer (2+ Years’ Experience) to join our growing boutique law firm in South Calgary. This role is ideal for a lawyer who enjoys family law but wants to practise it with more autonomy, less bureaucracy, and a genuinely supportive team around them. At DLegal, we believe experienced lawyers do their best work when they are trusted to manage their files, build strong client relationships, and use their own judgment — without unnecessary layers of management. What You’ll Do Manage your own family law files from intake through resolution Advise clients on separation, divorce, parenting, child and spousal support, and property division Draft and negotiate separation agreements, parenting agreements, cohabitation agreements, and other family law documents Attend mediations, judicial dispute resolutions, applications, and other court appearances as required Communicate directly with clients and guide them through what is often one of the most difficult periods of their lives Work independently while having access to a collaborative team when you want another perspective What We’re Looking For 3+ years of Alberta family law experience Strong knowledge of Alberta family law legislation and procedure Experience managing files independently Strong drafting, negotiation, and client-management skills Confidence appearing before the Alberta Court of Justice and Court of King’s Bench Practical judgment and a solution-focused approach Someone who is organized, responsive, and comfortable taking ownership of their practice Why DLegal?
