The Association of Justice Counsel is the exclusive bargaining agent for approximately 3,500 lawyers employed by the government of Canada, who work for the Department of Justice, the Public Prosecution Service of Canada, and provide in-house legal services to various federal agencies, tribunals and courts across the country. L'AJJ est l’agent négociateur pour environ 3 500 avocats et avocates employé·es par le Gouvernement du Canada (les avocat·es de la Couronne fédérale), qui travaillent pour le Ministère de la Justice, le Service de poursuites pénales du Canada et qui fournissent des services juridiques internes aux divers organismes, cours de justice et tribunaux fédéraux à travers le pays.

The Legal Counsel provides legal advice and representation to the AJC regarding the maintenance and enforcement of collective agreements. Key duties include conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, and representing the association before the Federal Public Sector Labour Relations and Employment Board.
